SEO audit
SEO Audit
Find out what is holding your website back, and what to fix first.
An SEO audit reviews your website’s technical health, content and competition, then turns the findings into an ordered plan. Tangensys offers a free initial audit of key issues and a comprehensive written audit for businesses that need a full, documented review.
How the work fits together

In short
What does an SEO audit include?
An SEO audit examines how search engines crawl and index your site, how well pages match what customers search for, and how you compare with competitors. The result is a prioritised list of fixes, explaining what to do first and why.
- SearchA customer looks for a service you offer
- Relevant pageA page that answers their question

- Completed enquiryCounted separately from contact clicks
Who it helps
Two levels of audit, for different needs.
The free initial audit identifies key issues and recommends priorities, usually as the first step before a quote. The comprehensive audit is a detailed written report for teams that need full documentation, an independent check or a plan for in-house work.

Practical detail
What an actionable finding looks like
This sample shows the format of a useful finding. It is not a diagnosis of a real client account or a promise of every item in the free review.
| Part of the work | Example output | How to review it |
|---|---|---|
| Finding | An important service page links to a redirected old URL | Keep the affected URL or event and the test evidence. |
| Priority/action | Update the internal destination and review the relevant mapping | Name the implementer and approval dependency. |
| Validation | The useful link reaches the intended working canonical page | Record pass/fail and remaining issues. |
| Audit levels | A free review can identify a starting issue; a detailed audit scopes wider evidence and findings | Implementation or monthly reporting is included only if separately agreed. |
Decide what question the audit must answer
An SEO audit is most useful when it informs a decision: why a key section is not being indexed, what a redesign must preserve or which improvements deserve the next budget. A long exported checklist can fail to answer any of those questions.
The free initial review and a comprehensive audit have different scope. The initial review identifies a practical starting point. A detailed written audit needs agreed coverage, access and deliverables, with implementation quoted separately where appropriate.
A useful finding includes the affected page or pattern, evidence, recommended action, priority and validation. The handover should make unresolved dependencies visible. Monthly reporting or an ongoing retainer is not implied by a one-off audit.

How do we know whether an audit is actionable?
Check whether your team can identify what to change, why, who owns it and how to test it. Ask for a prioritised handover rather than only a score. Where evidence is limited, the finding should explain the uncertainty and next investigation.
Is the SEO audit free?
The initial audit of key issues is free. A comprehensive written audit with full documentation is quoted separately.
How long does an audit take?
The initial audit is part of the quote process; a comprehensive audit’s turnaround depends on site size and is stated in the quote.
Do you need access to our accounts?
Search Console and analytics access helps; we can start with public information.
Will you fix the issues too?
If you wish. The audit stands on its own, and implementation is quoted separately.
What do you need to get started?
Your website, main services, target customers and markets. During onboarding we agree access to your website, Search Console and analytics.
